Ocular Surface Masterclass

Over one hundred international dry eye experts will be meeting this Friday at the Institute of Ocular Microsurgery (IMO) to take part in an “Ocular Surface Masterclass,” to present and put into practice the latest advancements in dealing with dry eye disease. Dry eye is a common pathology that affects 30% of the population and constitutes one of the main reasons for visits to the ophthalmologist, and there are many potential alternatives to offer patients at the present time. The “Ocular Surface Masterclass” organized by Laboratoires Thea  will be held at the Institute of Ocular Microsurgery (IMO), a center that specializes in Dry Eye Disease. The meeting will be a unique event for it as it has been given the support of important associations such as EUCORNEA (European Society of Cornea and Ocular Surface Disease Specialists) and TFOS (Tear Film & Ocular Surface Society). TFOS is an international group of specialists in charge of the latest classification of dry eye, the “TFOS DEWS II” report published in 2018, which serves as guidelines for use in new clinical practice handbooks.  Education and sharing knowledge are a tradition at Théa.  Promoting the latest advances on dry eye treatments and bringing doctors together to exchange their experiences while discussing clinical cases is one goal of this event. Ophthalmologists and optometrists will also address accurate diagnosis for customized treatments and the follow-up on dry eye treatments, which is essential as each patient is truly unique.
